Abboudi Bou Jaoude’s collection of film posters and associated materials has grown into the thousands—items collected from cinemas around the world over the last 50 years. He has seen the development of Arab cinema and cinema culture in the Arab world through his passion of cinema-going, and in this interview, Abboudi shares the story of his life with film.

Abboudi Bou Jaoude is the founder and owner of Al Furat publishing house in Beirut, and an avid collector of film posters and related materials, amassing one of the most significant collections of its kind in the world. Collecting since he was 15 years old, he now has over 20,000 items in his collection. He is an active lender of his collection to exhibitions, and in 2015 compiled and published the first publication on films made in Lebanon, Tonight, Cinema in Lebanon, 1929–1979, featuring over 500 pages with full color imagery.
