Cartoons by Tom Fishburne

2021

Tom Fishburne believes in the power of cartoons to “humanize complex topics, show empathy, spark conversations, and break through the clutter.”

Using his trademark humor and distinctive style, he created three new cartoons for the exhibition Unraveling Persuasion. The cartoons tackle areas of persuasion within advertising and marketing explored in the exhibition. The first, titled Eye-Catching, draws attention to the psychology underpinning our consumer behaviors, highlighting Robert Cialdini’s six principles of persuasion—reciprocity, scarcity, authority, commitment and consistency, liking, and consensus.
