The Media Majlis partnered with Morris Hargreaves McIntyre (MHM) to develop an evaluation framework. The museum aims to "help audiences understand that there is always another side, to global, regional and local stories."
Evaluation is described as "a structured process of assessing if a project has met its goals" with dual purposes to both demonstrate impact and identify improvement opportunities.
Logic Model Approach
MHM employs a six-stage framework examining:
- Rationale & Ambitions: Why the museum exists and its vision
- Inputs: Resources including staff, exhibitions, and technology
- Desired Results: Outputs (visitor numbers) and outcomes (behavioral change)
- Monitoring & Analysis: Data collection methods and measurement
- Review & Reflection: Learning captured to improve operations
Strategy Tree
The museum developed a visual hierarchy connecting vision through mission, aims, objectives, strategies, and performance indicators. Seven thematic aims include artistic content, learning approaches, audience engagement, and organizational excellence.
Benefits
Key benefits emphasized include: wide team ownership, strategic rigor, creative language use, skills development, and visual clarity across the organization.
