ABOUT

Film distribution is a difficult industry—cinemas are limited, film festivals are flooded with submissions, and viewers are overwhelmed by choices. In this interview Irit Neidhardt, one of the few Arab film distributors, provides insight into the different complications the film industry and filmmakers are now facing from both a global and Middle East perspective.

Irit Neidhardt is associate producer of the award-winning feature-documentary Recycle (2007), and co-producer of the highly acclaimed The One Man Village (2008) and prizewinning Fidia (2012). From 2014–2016 she was an Honorary Fellow at the European Centre for Palestine Studies at the University of Exeter, UK. She is a member of the German Documentary Association and has served in juries for several film festivals and funding institutions in Germany, Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, and Lebanon.
